The Magic Dealers Association was formed in 1946 and incorporated in Maryland in 1947. It has a long history of notable and gifted members. Its past presidents list reads like a who's who in magic, from Gene Gordon, Merv Taylor and Russ Walsh to more current alumni, Paul Fried, Bob Little and Chuck Kirchner.

BENEFITS:

Discounted merchant credit card account service 1.75% for Retail and 2.40% for Mail Order and Internet use.

A trade show that circulates within the United States is held every other year.

A newsletter, focusing on issues and news that effect magic sales, manufacturing and inventing, is published quarterly.

A roster of current members

Various promotional display items to acknowledge membership; and opportunities to advertise in the M.D.A. Bulletin and annual trade show programs.

After completing one full year of membership, they are afforded the opportunity to display at the Magic Dealers Association trade show

NETWORKING: Most importantly, members receive something that isn't as tangible: the ability to meet and form business relationships with people who make up this diverse group called "magic dealers." They'll better understand how someone creates, names and manufactures a product; they will learn how to hone their own business skills, whether it's behind the counter or through the mail. And from time to time, we have some special encounters, like the Las Vegas M.D.A. trade show where we were extended the invitation to chat backstage with Siegfried and Roy over champagne. There are many other benefits that members will discover for themselves.

MEMBERSHIP COSTS: The non-refundable application fee is currently $100, and dues are $75.00 annually.

Upon approval for membership, and annually thereafter, each member receives a membership certificate suitable for framing, and a wallet size membership card and receipt.
